OverviewThe Seiko Smart Label Printer 440 (SLP440) makes addressing, filing, shipping and labelling your diskettes and videos a breeze with its easy to use software, simple design and S P E E D. The SLP440 allows you to print labels from a narrow 14x87mm right up to 58x101mm Shipping Labels. Installing the SLP440 takes only a few moments. You simply attach the printer to a spare Serial port or USB port on your computer, run the installation program from the Seiko CD and then start printing labels from Seiko's label software or from all your favourite applications. Like all Seiko SLP models, you'll never need to buy ink, toner or ribbons because they use a special thermal printing method for printing labels - meaning that the only supply you will ever need is labels..... * NOTE: Seiko Smart Label Printers are 'direct thermal' printers meaning that they 'burn' the print onto specially coated thermal labels. Although these labels can last many years in some applications, they are more suited to shorter periods of use and will be affected by exposure to light, heat and moisture. The longest usage we know of is for filing - we have labels that are over 7 years old in our offices, but these have lasted because they are on file folders which are stored away in filing cabinets. Furthermore, being 'direct thermal' Seiko Smart Label Printers can only print black text and graphics only. You can add colour to your labels by having them preprinted with your own logo, company details etc. Call our customer service team for more information on colour preprinting.
